I founded Scary Chic because I am obsessed with dressing in costume. I moved to San Francisco in 2008 and was inspired by the imagination and dedication I saw at events like the Edwardian Ball, Halloween in the Castro neighborhood (back in the old days), and the ultimate of all personal expression: Burning Man.
I believe in owning high-quality clothing that can become a costume at a moment’s notice. The individuality of your outfit comes from what you choose and how you combine it. And of course, if you don’t have an occasion to dress in costume – make one up!
